NASCAR Driver Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr. Making History in Daytona 500 Darrell "Bubba" Wallace, finished in second place at the 2018 Daytona 500 race on Sunday, February 18th behind the wheel of Car #43 owned by Richard Petty Motorsports. Bubba is the first African-American driver in the Daytona 500 field since Wendell Scott in 1969. Bubba's finish was the highest for an African-American driver since Wendell Scott who finshed in 13th place in 1966 at Daytona. |
